Jedds uv are complete and the character has been sent off to be weighted and rigged . The textures for Jedd are currently on hold as I’m Uv mapping the bed at the moment & any other model that needs sorting , after that I’m going to start my dissertation as that is really, really worrying me . Not so much the dissertation , more the fact it’s getting in the way of film production time ( which to me makes the dissertation POINTLESS, I want a good looking film ! Not some rushed animation all because of a written piece urghh…rant over)
The bed is about ¾ done and should be ready by late tomorrow .

TIRED

Everything in this scene so far has been Uv'd
I just finished the head & hands but something was wrong with the head(top part to be exact , something to do with the model) so I'm re-working it & trying to fix the issue . either way, Its been a solid days worth of uv-ing of pure trial and error, working with these new objects (buttons etc) which i'm yet to finish . The uvs are split into separate parts .. Skin , Clothes , Material (metal/plastic) If need be, I will put it all onto one map .

Uv tests
The Uv's for the character are going very well, so once the final model is complete & given to me i'm very confident it wont take me long to fully UV him (I‘ve had enough practice as you can see). Here's an example of how busy ive been,
primarily whole of yesterday and early hours on this morning been spent on nailing some really good UV's
+ some examples of test maps

Playing around with some UV fun

I recived the Jed Model from Polished off and I’m currently developing the UV’s for the character At the moment im currently using a new program called Uvlayout and it’s amazing ! I’m currently getting used to it so I may redo these Uvs as I can now see other possible and more effective ways of producing some excellent Uv’s . The current uv’s have independent arms ( I may redo this and attach the arms !) which will make texturing far…. Far easier.
Obviously some tweaks to be made , this is just a progress report.

Sky Development

Development indeed, before the clouds looked so flat it was just plain silly to continue re-working that same image, so I completely morphed the image into something with a lot more depth and gave it that real epic distant feeling that splay needs for its background . As with the previous sky images it’s massive , the image is still underdevelopment ( of course)
